Ravindra M. is a student with over 20 years of experience as a pharmacist in his native country.
It was his dream to continue his career in pharmacy in the United States. In 2011, he moved to the US and was able to pass his FPGEE on his very first attempt.
Then he put his focus on the TOEFL…
Beginning Again
Ravindra studied for his first TOEFL using Barron’s, The Princeton Review, and the official ETS prep book. He took his first test in 2012. His scores were great in the reading and listening sections, but only average in speaking and writing. This was his challenge…
Finding Help
Some time later while searching for a solution, a friend of his suggested NoteFull to him.
He started using our free videos on YouTube to get ready for his next test. When he took the TOEFL a second time, his scores in the speaking and writing sections fell short again.
The videos helped him quite a bit. But he knew he needed more help with his speaking skills. By the end of 2014, he signed up for our 6-Step Speaking + Tutoring + Review program.
“This program gave me the in depth knowledge about the speaking section and how to deal with each and every small part of it. It helped my how to keep my answers short and how to focus explaining personal information.”
But Ravindra was still having trouble reaching his dream scores. After a few more failed TOEFL attempts, he signed up for our Complete TOEFL Mastery program.
He was frustrated and discouraged. But he kept going…He thought of how a spider keeps rebuilding his web time after time whenever it falls down. This gave him the motivation he needed to keep going!
He filled out the free assessment in the Complete TOEFL Mastery program and got a recording from Nayyer with some tips. It taught him how to improve his answer to the Summary question in the reading section. It also showed him how to manage his time and keep a steady speaking pace throughout his response in the speaking section. And he learned to strengthen his Independent Essay by using two body paragraphs as well.
Then Ravindra signed up for 2 Tutoring Sessions with Mathew. Mathew worked with him and taught him how to organize and improve his notes. These sessions inspired him and gave him the confidence that he could greatly improve his scores.
On his next TOEFL attempt, he got the scores he needed in all sections…But his speaking score was off by 1 point! And unfortunately, by this time his FPGEE score expired…
But Ravindra wasn’t going to give up that easily!
On Their Way
“I had worked too hard over these years. I quickly passed the FPGEE exam again, and then I took the TOEFL on April 21. It was my 30th attempt, after six and a half years. Can you believe it?”
After over 6 years and 30 attempts, Ravindra could finally work as a pharmacist in the United States!
