• Beginning Again

Valeria’s challenge was preparing for the TOEFL while working full time. She already had a good grasp of the English language when she started studying for the TOEFL. She had a Master’s degree in English and 10 years of experience in translation.

But not all of her studies were in English. So, she needed to pass the TOEFL to get into her dream school: Tilburg University.

Her test was on the 9th of March, and she signed up on the 20th of February. So she only had a little over 2 weeks to study!

She started studying using the official TOEFL guides by ETS and other tools from the TOEFL website. She used these tools until the end of February…

  • Finding Help

With only a week left to study, she started looking online for more useful tips she could learn to get her dream scores. That’s when she found NoteFull…

“…on 1st of March I’ve joined NoteFull and bought 1-step TOEFL Mastery course, which I’ve finished by 8th of March. I guess I should mention that during this time I of course have been working full time.

With a full time job and only a week left to study, Valeria was able to finish out the course with a day to spare!

Going through the course showed her that there is a structure to the articles in the reading, speaking, and writing sections. She learned how to use that structure to her advantage in the reading and writing sections. Not only that, it helped her with her reading and speaking speed as well…

“…I read and speak slowly (both in my native tongue and English) and this is just my personal feature. So, the tips for reading section from the course helped me to save a lot of time…Same with the speaking: even though my result in speaking wasn’t very high, it was mostly because of my natural speed of speaking. Nevertheless I am sure it would be much less if I didn’t stick to the structure of an answer given in the NoteFull course.

By the end of the course, she felt confident in her understanding of the TOEFL. And her ability to get her dream scores!

  • On Their Way

On March 9th, Valeria was able to get her dream TOEFL scores on her very first try!

“…I find it very helpful and effective to have structure in everything and especially in studying for an exam, I would advise to choose one course, stick to it and establish the best structure possible around the study process and the exam itself.

Now, she’s free to apply to Tilburg and chase her dream career in psychology!

Congrats, Valeria. A 107 is a truly amazing score! We wish you the best in all that you do!

    Reading: 29, Listening: 28, Speaking: 23, Writing: 27
