JUNE 2016 – PHYSICAL THERAPY.
This June we’re honoring a talented physical therapist from Brazil!
Mariane M. currently helps rehab neurological patients in their own homes.
With plans of living in the US, she would have to face the TOEFL.
And like with many certifications, hers required a 26 in the speaking section to work here…
Beginning Again
This was Mariane’s challenge…
“My English was rusty. I had studied English as a kid from ten years old. I stopped studying English when I was sixteen years old. From ages sixteen to thirty, I was totally concentrated on learning French. I was not practicing English too much- only on a few occasions. So, when I first took my TOEFL, I did pretty well in reading, listening, and writing, but I scored only 19 in the speaking section and the requirement is a 26.”
She took the test several more times. But the highest she could get was a 23 in the speaking section…
Finding Help
That’s when she reached out to NoteFull for a solution.

Mariane also worked through an English class with a local teacher in Brazil. She watched English movies without subtitles. And she even changed the languages on all her electronic devices to English! What a great idea!
On Their Way
“I took a Speaking Test Flash Review with Mathew and received 26-28. Then, I took the TOEFL and I knew the level of 26, but I was so nervous that I only got a 25! Then two later, after working with Nayyer, I got a 26. He helped me a lot!”
Mariane was finally rewarded for all her hard work with a 26 in speaking and a total score of 102! Her advice to all future students is to never give up and to put all your trust in NoteFull:
“Stick to the templates. When NoteFull gives you a template, practice questions all day using that template.”
Now Mariane is working on the final steps towards moving to the States! We can’t wait for you to join us! 🙂
