Beginning Again

Manar’s challenge was that she was unsure of how to approach the TOEFL when she first started studying. But she was lucky to find NoteFull very early in her journey. When she spoke with other TOEFL students about how she should prepare, many of them told her to go with NoteFull.

So she signed up and went through the program as quick as she could before her test. On her first attempt she got these scores:

R11, L15, S19, W21

As you can imagine, Manar wasn’t happy with her results. She was feeling disappointed in herself. And she was doubting whether or not she could actually pass the TOEFL. So she started studying every TOEFL book she could get her hands on. Cambridge, Kaplan, you name it. But she quickly learned that these books were a waste of time for her…

“You will get distracted easily as they do not give a precise picture of the real exam.”

Finding Help

“You may say to yourself that the period of session is short and you will not learn that much. But you are totally wrong, I learned a lot from each professor.”

She was amazed at how much she learned from these sessions. They quickly found where she was having issues and taught her how to correct them. After coming such a long way in just 2 sessions, she decided that she wanted more help. So she signed up for several more sessions with Mathew. 

Whenever she wasn’t in tutoring, Manar was putting in the work. And a lot of it! She studied for about 6 hours every day. She would get up before anyone else in her house and get to work. She approached her studies scientifically. Making sure to understand each and every word. She didn’t just go through her NoteFull programs 2 or 3 times. She repeated every section at least 10 times. Even if she had completed the section before. She practiced again and again to make sure that every lesson was ingrained in her mind. For Manar, repetition was the key to success.

“At the same time, you have take tutor sessions because each teacher will give a valuable advice. They are professional with this issue. TOEFL is not only a language [test], it is also [about] technique. You have to be able to deal with exam very intelligently and NoteFull will teach you how to pass without getting stuck with this challenging test and move on with your life.”

On Their Way

Manar’s approach to her studies is a great example of how to succeed on the TOEFL. Tutoring is a very important piece of the puzzle. But sticking to your own study plan outside of class time often makes the difference between success and failure. Even with such dedication it can still take many tries to pass the TOEFL.

For Manar, it wasn’t until her 16th attempt that she finally got her dream scores. The key is to never give up! All of her hard work in and out of tutoring allowed her to finally put the TOEFL behind her. In the end, she raised her total score by 38 points. And her speaking score shot up 7 points!

Here is her final advice for you:

“My advice to all students is NEVER GIVE UP. Thomas Edison, the great scientist invented the Light electric bulb which enlightens our life in the darkness. He repeated his experiment ten thousand times until he made his great invention. When he was interviewed and was asked what he felt towards that he answered: I have not failed, I have just found ten thousand times will not work!!!!… So do not get frustrated and even though you fail, do not give up. Keep going and repeating the same program and do not get distracted with so many sources like what I did. Believe in yourself and your dreams and dream of your goal every day in order to keep going and never stop and I am sure you will celebrate your success and take my place on SUCCESS STORIES PAGE.”
