MARCH 2014 – GRADUATE SCHOOL.
NoteFull’s Student of the Month this March is Abdulmajeed K. from Nigeria! Congrats, Abdulmajeed!
Abdulmajeed was studying for the TOEFL so he could apply to graduate school. But this was just one item on a huge list of things he had to deal with at the time…
Abdulmajeed’s challenge was that he still hadn’t completed his undergraduate work. So he had to finish that up. He was also getting ready for a big competition. He was preparing for his GRE’s at the time. And as if all that wasn’t enough, Eid Kabir was going on! (Eid Kabir is a very important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims around the world.)
Needless to say, he found very little time to study for the TOEFL. And he had never even taken the TOEFL before. So, he wasn’t really sure about how to approach it.
“I started practicing for the TOEFL for about two months haphazardly, but eventually faced it squarely for 3 weeks and used NoteFull as a guide.”
Abdulmajeed studied for about 10 hours a week once he found his solution in NoteFull.
“I’m more of a person who enjoys studying when in the right mood. I know when I learn best, and I know when I’d probably just be wasting my time. So knowing your strength and weaknesses I believe is paramount.”
It’s also important to always study when you’re the freshest. The more energy you have the better! If you have the most energy in the morning, then make time to study at the start of the day. You’ll retain more information that way. Find whatever works best for you and stick with it!
Abdulmajeed mainly used our Free YouTube videos to prepare for the TOEFL. He found our Free Course very helpful as well. He felt that these resources provide the basic tips and methods you need to answer TOEFL questions.
He liked how in-depth NoteFull’s courses are. Everything from the advice on quick note-taking to the words of support helped him reach success. But Abdulmajeed believed the most important thing that NoteFull gave him was the courage he needed to get his dream scores.
On Their Way
And what great scores they were! Abdulmajeed scored a total of 110 with a perfect score in the Writing section!
Scores like that are very hard to get. But Abdulmajeed humbly states:
“…it comes down to diligence, zeal, courage, self-confidence, determination, and most importantly, PRACTICE!”
Awesome job, Abdulmajeed! We know you’ll do great in graduate school!
Here are his final words of advice for you:
“Make NoteFull your companion. Envision your score yourself and work towards it. Practice and get that much needed confidence.”Reading: 26, Listening: 26, Speaking: 28, Writing: 30
